Looking for a job is not just putting your resume together and posting it on the job site. In today’s job hunting world, you have to be able to get your name out there among people who know what is going on. There is a whole new world that requires the internet and social networking. And, the better you know how to use these advantages the better chances you will have of landing that job that you want.

Those who are skilled in LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are able to become an expert at hacking the job search. Traditional job searching is no longer enough and you will still be looking for that dream job months from now unless you can learn the basics of hacking the job search.

Let’s look at this a different way. How many people do you know that were hired for a particular job because of someone they know? Or maybe from someone that is a friend of a friend? The more you are able to network the better off you will be.

With the way the economy is you have to be creative in your job search. Do you want to be among the hundreds of papers that an employer is going through or do you want to standout? Now is the time to be creative with the job hunt hacking.

Make it easy for others to help you land that desired job by letting them know that you are looking for a job and what you are interested in. Grow your networks! The more people that know what you are looking for the more people that may just be able to help you.

Be clear when you are networking. Don’t just go to a social network and say you are looking for a job. Be creative and let them know what your skills are. Let your followers and others know what you have to offer.

Are you good at a particular skill such as SEO? Then while you have extra time offer to do some SEO work at a reduced rate or maybe even free to get your name out there. This works great for larger companies that can give you excellent references. If you have a particular skill then let it sell you.

Do not be afraid to try new things when it comes to hacking the job search. Be different and walk out on that limb. Wanting to be noticed and actually getting noticed are two different things. You are creative and have something of value to give a company now go and sell that creativity!
